Cheap EMR

Electronic medical records are something that a lot of medical physicians simply do not know about. In fact, cheap EMR software has been around for around 20 years. That being said, as the years go by, software becomes much higher quality and much better value for money at the same time. More and more developers are now getting involved with the development of the software, as they can see that the market for it is growing on a daily basis. Almost every single medical facility in the country has either looked at, or already implemented, some kind of electronic medical records in their establishment. The trend is likely to continue, especially as the Government is pushing to try and get electronic medical records software in every single facility by as soon as 2014. Of course, they are likely to have their work cut out, simply due to the cost.

The cost of electronic medical records software has been reducing over the last few months, yet it is still well out of reach for many places that are offering high levels of patient care. Offering high levels of patient care is something that costs a lot of money and therefore, a lot of funding. Since the recession, funding for the medical industry has been extremely tight and therefore, the work load for many facilities has increased. Cheap EMR is something that aims to combat these problems as an upfront investment will see that each and every facility that offers medical services throughout the country will be able to deal with a much higher demand in terms of their patient numbers. This will increase their revenue and funding, to a point where they will be able to operate effectively once more.

Cheap EMR does have a few problems attached to it though. Generally, the cheaper versions of the software have not been developed extensively and they are not as technologically advanced as they could be. In developers terms, these pieces of software are considered to be old news and for that reason, they will not help each medical facility to reach their full potential. That being said, they will be able to help a facility to increase their patient numbers, just not by the percentage that they could if they incorporated a much more up to date piece of software into their working environment. Of course, the reason for going for cheap EMR software is simple, it costs a lot less. The cheaper pieces of software can cost less than $10,000 in many cases, where as the complex pieces of software can tend to cost $40,000 and even more in many cases.

Over time, the cheap EMR software will get better and better but for now, there is an option for all medical institutions throughout the country to get hold of the top class electronic medical records software. The Government wants to convert all of these institutions to using high-tech EMR software by the end of 2014. In order to do so, they know they are going to have to make some serious investments. One of the things they have vouched to do is to award each institution anything to the tune of $44,000 as long as they can guarantee that they will use the EMR software on a regular basis and make use of its full potential. This is easily done, considering that the majority of facilities would save a few hours per day with this kind of software. Cheap EMR software would simply not be able to offer these kind of time savings. It is worth researching these different developers to find out which is the most suitable.
